Well, it has been a long but rewarding week. I worked all week at the preschool and could potentially share a billion stories, a few rants, and a nasty cough with you, but I will spare you. This time.
I spent a good portion of the evening yesterday addressing Thank You envelopes and plan to do the same tonight. However, I find that weeks when I am away from home for the majority of the day lead to weekends in which I am overwhelmed by all the things I need and want to do. I'm dying to redo some of the painting above our couch and maybe add another canvas or two...I also have some beautiful grey fabric that is asking to be made into a pillow and maybe some curtains. While imagining said pillow, I stumbled on some new things from Emersonmade. I do like a lot of her stuff (esp some of her dresses), however, something about her bothers me for some reason. I'm a terrible person, I know.
Just forget about that little fact and check this out:
I could make those! So now add that to the list of things that I want to try out this weekend...and don't have enough time for. Who knows why I do that to myself.
On a really fun note - Mr D and I volunteered to create little coloring books for the kids at the upcoming sisters' wedding. I found this marvelous print to draw inspiration from. Right up the Misters' alley!
Love it. I Pinned that bad boy the second I saw it.
Alrighty, before I sign off to start some of my weekend bliss, I have decided to share just one gem with you from my work week.
Today was sharing day in our classroom and one child brought in a brand new Buzz Lightyear toy. He was letting one of the girls in the class play with it (I'm detecting a serious 5 year old crush going on here) when another little boy pushed one of the buttons. The owner yelped and woke the dead with his protests to the little boy touching his Buzz. He only wanted to share with the girl, definitely not with this little boy.
The girl said that was mean and they carried on for a minute. In the meantime, one special little boy (who is always crackin me up) walked by them and sighed heavily while shaking his head and saying, "Well, that's the problem! Boys are just not good at sharing with each other. Only girls are good at it". I couldn't hold back my snicker :]
Have a blessed weekend all!

My Poor Tushie
I blame JTing 109% for introducing me to this fantastic new community that I couldn't resist. You would not even believe how great this is...Pinterest.com - you have a page with multiple "Pinboards" or pictures that you've pinned. For example, one of my pinboards is Things That Inspire, and I've attached some photos from blogs I follow that inspire me in one way or another. Then other people with accounts can view your pictures and you can click on anyone elses' pinboards to see fabulous things that inspire them.
For instance, here is something in my "Can I Please Snatch This Up?" category:
And this is something in my "Hilarity" category:
A poster by Alex Cornell made for a Wes Anderson film festival. That didn't exist.
Horrible. Horribly Wonderful I should say. Now look at me! I'm bobbin my head to some Stevie Wonder and Pinnnnnnin stuff like there's no tomorrow. Someone stop me!! Oh but it's just so much fun and so terribly easy. You drag a "Pin It" button onto your tool bar and BAM. Anytime you're on a site and you see something you like, you click that button, select the image you like and throw it in a category. Gah. Ruining my life and yet making my day all at the same time. Phooey.
I also just got "hired" as a freelance writer for an online company. I'm supposed to pick topics relating to preschoolers and write short blurbs addressing people's questions or points of interest and submit them to the website. This is both terrific for the days that I am not actually at the preschool, and simultaneously it's doing nothing for my Get Away From The Computer program. I'm afraid I will start slouching even more, lose any definition the tush had and develop a horrendous case of Bus Drivers Butt. Not to mention start eating Cheetos all day and drinking Red Bulls.
Maybe I can start blasting music in the middle of the day and have a short Jazz-er-cise dance party by my lonesome.
Happy nearly weekend all!

Some great finds
I got a sneak peek at some of the Kuruma wedding pictures and they are just so darling that I have to share.
To see more, you can go to Part 1 that was blogged about them, or Part 2. Neither of these are the official pictures, but just a preview. There's also a quick video that you can view. Super fun.
The other thing that I wanted to share was this Hilarious blog that I stumbled across. Catalog Living gives a picture into what the inhabitants of catalog houses might be doing and saying. All the pictures are taken from Pottery Barn catalogs and would not normally crack you up. The author is just so funny, I love it. To give you a taste:
Out of the Closet
"While Gary and Elaine were in the kitchen getting popcorn, the brave yellow sweater attempted its escape."
There are so many more. Do yourself a favor and click on the link. Laugh a little and have a good day.

The year of the Weddings
Well, it's official, I am fully back into the swing of wedding planning! It took me almost 8 months to gather the energy again, but I'm here. The Cholly wedding is less than 8 weeks away and we've got lots to do so pass me another coffee and let's get crackin!
I've begun scouring all my old wedding blog haunts in search of ideas to present Bride to Be for some directional usage. While doing so I have noticed two distinct feelings arising: 1. Ohhh, if I did my wedding again, I'd use that too! and 2. Praise the sweet baby Jesus that I am done with my wedding!
Some people are getting so darn creative it's fun to see...but along with that, some seem to just be falling off the Weird Cliff and are too bent on being "different" to really care that it's...weird.
I've also found that people are really getting into this whole Vintage-y feeling. It's so modern. However, very similar to the 'Creative or -- oops! That's Weird' concept, I feel like I'm seeing either some really neat vintage ideas or hints at vintage feelings OR someone just tipping over the I LOVE VINTAGE boat and it all becomes a little, well, ridiculous to me. Listen, I appreciate your shout out to the past, and I like some nifty bifty vintage things too (old books and radios are the best!) but we really do know that you are having your wedding today, so doing the full garb and the photo shoot...a leetle over the top to me.
Here are some examples I have stumbled across in my mind numbing searches:
Fun and creative, a personal crossword puzzle at each place setting. I like it!
Now we have an Oops, that's weird looking.
Super creative camping engagement shoot.
Oh my goodness you're trying too hard.
Amazing handmade bouquet!
Vs Bizarre Thumbalina wedding.
If I'da had the time...I would have loved to do something like this. What am I thinking?? 150 people? Well, I was nuts anyway.
Who do you think you are?
This last photo does not fall into either of the categories, I just thought
Holy Smokes that girl is tall!!
Ok, I am beginning to fail at the whole Being Productive thing. I may have spent all my productivity yesterday cleaning out two closets and a linen cabinet. However, I feel blissfully organized now and a little less OCD.
Hope your Monday is a good one.
XOXO

Hi, remember me?
My profuse apologies! Things have been hipping and hopping around our place as of late, and time to sit down and blog has been something of a whimsical dream.
The mister and I knocked out two more weddings last week, both of which were a blast, but experienced separately by us seeing as they were on the same day in rather different parts of the state. Bummer.
Here are a few pics from Kevin and Kimi's wedding though. Easily one of my favorite weddings ever.

Kelly and Jeanette, stylin as always.
Kimi crying already, but still ridiculously gorgeous
A shot of the decor. I can't believe how much work went into this wedding. I thought I was nuts...
Two lovely bridesmaids. There was a mild debate between my family as to which Yama girl is the most beautiful. Tough call friends. My vote might go for Marya, but don't tell.
There was a guy behind them singing all the words to the song. Hilarious.
Mama Yama. Perhaps my favorite Italian. Ever. Especially after the homemade Torrone wedding favors. Yum!
I also spent a glorious day in the city with Jana and Victoria at a phenomenal tea salon in Ghirardelli Square.
Is it just me, or does that fabric look a little like something from Taylor Linens??
The menu of glory
Tea for Three - surprisingly filling
I would go back in a heartbeat. The food was tasty, the tea was scrumptious, and the atmosphere was fantastically girly. Bet you didn't know I had it in me, did ya?
I got back from the Bay Monday afternoon and have been working all this week. It's been great fun and I've loved the classes I've gotten to be in, but by far the highlight of my week was yesterday around 5pm. One of my favorite little tykes, maybe about 20 months old, said my name as he was leaving with his mom. The cheeks on the child alone would make you melt. Now add to that the fact that the majority of his vast and wildly extensive vocabulary consists of, "More pease?", "Go outside?", "No", and "Mommy come", and you will better understand why his waving and saying, "Bye-bye Heidi" would take the coveted spot of Most Amazing Moment Of My Week. It kills.
Well, there will be more updates later, but for now I want to get off the computer and start enjoying this three day weekend!! Woohoo!
As a quick side note, could someone please get around to having a baby girl? Boys are adorable and all, and I've found some great stuff to make for wee cousin to be, but you're breaking my heart with graphics like these:
Kim? Back from your honeymoon yet? Heh heh :] Mostly kidding, mostly kidding...
