Found, Hired, and Sewing like Crazy

I feel like every now and then, when I go a little too MIA in the blog world, I need to drop just a quick note to say, "Still Here!!"

Latest News (before I hit the pillow):
- I am now employed full time at the preschool. I am co-teaching a class of Pre-K-ers, aka 4 year olds. Love them, admire the teacher I'm working with, can't wait for the school year to start. However, we're fitting in an awesome vacation up the coast first!

- Three books I got from the library that the kids have loved: There's Something in my Attic, Jumpy Jack and Googily, and Pigeon Wants a Puppy. The last read with the correct inflections is apparently Pee In Your Pants Hilarious. Ok, not really that bad...we all know in my field that could be quite literal.
It's funny. That's the point. If you have kids, they are worth looking into.

- Sisters' wedding is fast approaching and I am still working on quite a few things. Ring Bearer pillows are near completion, but I still have quite a few pinwheels to pound out. And two or three fairy wands. It'll get done, don't worry.

- I found my camera cable!! Not that you were aware that it's been missing, but this is the majority of the reason I have been such a procrastinator in my blogging. How could I post about just anything when Scott's performance from the Adams wedding is stuck in my camera?! This means many a post is soon to hit you.

- I hope you all realize that my new job security means many more ridiculous child stories...

...and on that note ~ (just one, I promise) one of my favorite little boys was in my class the other day, and after a little girl had made some comment of very little importance (something along the lines of, "This cracker is salty!"), he said with great drama and while rolling his head back, "[Girl's name], you are crackin me up! You are crackin me up at this Sitch-U-ation right now."    My eyes watered I was silent laughing that hard. Maybe you just have to hear how he said it, but it was worth my entire day just to be a fly on the wall (/teacher at a desk) for that moment.

Ok, more to come, I promise.

Amazing...I know. They're by Ming Makes Cupcakes and she puts all of her recipes online. I am in love with this woman.

Check it out. Try it out. Get fat. Let me know how they taste.

Bugger

The Mister and I have decided that the usage of this word cannot be all that bad considering Wallace just used it in the latest Wallace and Gromit movie we watched. How bad could it be then?

I just had a rather delayed Bugger moment that is mildly embarrassing. I was recently at a wedding and was seated at a table with someone that I recognized. I wasn't sure he would remember me so when the appropriate time came, I leaned over and said pleasantly, "Hi (I won't say his name here), I don't know if you remember me, I'm Heidi". He smiled and said he did remember me and proceeded to spout off some questions about how I was doing.

I was a little surprised at just how much he did remember me since in my memory I couldn't recall us knowing each other that well. Maybe passing acquaintances or friends of friends. Plus I couldn't remember a thing about the topics he apparently knew all about me: where he went to school, what he did, where he lived now...

In my mind however, I simply passed it off as a huge success for facebook's home page updates - or simply word from mutual friends.

It was only very recently (aka about a month or so after said wedding) that I realized when I saw that he was on my gchat list, that I in fact knew him quite well. We had been in a Bible Study together, hung out in the same crowd quite often, and he had even been to a goodbye party I'd had before moving down for school.I flipped through some pictures I had from the goodbye and sure enough, there's a picture I have with him.

Egad. Thankfully I didn't do anything any more stupid than re-introduce myself to the guy after only not seeing him for maybe 2 years.

Perhaps the most ironic thing of all is -- I rock at the game Memory.
